Lebanese American University was founded as a college for women in 1924. However, its origins can be traced back nearly a century further to the 1830s, where the first school for girls in the Ottoman empire was started by Presbyterian missionaries with the aim of providing education for all. Students can graduate and have their degrees awarded on the student information system and their diplomas printed by the end of each of our terms.
This process is the completion of academic requirements and not to the graduation ceremony itself. Below are the awarding dates:

  1. End of September and October Term: awarding occurs during first week of February and the graduation date displayed on the diploma would be “January 31, yyyy”
  2. End of January and March Term: awarding occurs during first week of June and the graduation date displayed on the diploma would be “May 31, yyyy”
  3. End of June Term: awarding occurs during first week of September and the graduation date displayed on the diploma would be “August 31, yyyy”

The graduation ceremony is organized once each year per campus (usually during the 2nd or 3rd week of June) whereby the graduates of the past terms are invited to march.
