Overview
The Arabic for Beginners, Level 1 course introduces new learners to the Arabic alphabet as well as basic conversational phrases. The course is designed to allow learners to feel comfortable at a basic tourist level in Arabic speaking countries. The Arabic presented in the course incudes both modern standard pronunciations and the Lebanese dialect.
Curriculum
The course is organized into four modules with five lessons each. The first module focuses on the alphabet and numbers — this can be completed in 1 to 3 weeks depending on the learner’s starting level and persistence. The second module focuses on conversational essentials covering greetings and basic personal information — this can be completed in 2 to 3 weeks depending on the learner’s persistence. The third module focuses on time, dates, seasons, and question words — this can be completed in 2 to 3 weeks depending on the learner’s pace. The fourth module focuses on everyday life topics and can comfortably be completed within 1 to 2 weeks.
